Terms of the week: UNICORN, S-1 Document
🔥Hottest🔥 Product News!
1. Fintech Unicorn Toast, filed an S-1 document as they plan to go public and even raised their IPO price range for its shares. This news indicates that Toast may be worth more than they originally expected, which is a bullish sign for Financial Technology. Toast's post valuation as of earlier this year is $4.90B. They are set to IPO at $36 per share!
Elizabeth Holmes, founder of the infamous health-tech startup Theranos, is on trial for fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Theranos was once valued at $10B, and its leadership claimed it would revolutionize the blood-testing industry however, that was not to be. Elizabeth Holmes' trial is expected to last through December as everyone waits to hear if Holmes deliberately misled patients and investors.
Salesforce and Alibaba Cloud are collaborating together and launching "Salesforce Social Commerce." This will be a headless commerce product being designed and built in China to help multinational brands grow their business in the region. Salesforce Social Commerce will be the first product brought to market as part of the Salesforce and Alibaba Cloud strategic partnership. It will complement potential additional Salesforce products.

Guy Raz who is renowned as "one of the most popular podcasters in history" by the New York Times, works as a journalist, correspondent, and radio host, currently for NPR (National Public Radio). Raz is an outstanding host who creates room for intimate conversations with entrepreneurs about their background, struggles, hustles, and their idea for the product, and what they did to scale it. Raz does a great job of asking personal questions that beyond the stodgy business questions and focuses on the roller-coaster journeys that many entrepreneurs go through. This Week In Startups (TWIST)is a podcast that covers the major tech stories in the world in detail with professionals from those industries.
